V2 update: Anodized aluminum version. Now available in black
- The new material, with its hard-coat finish is more much scratch and stain resistant than v1 which means scratches, water marks and coffee stains are much less visible.
- The finish is a satin almost matte finish that's slightly textured which gives more grip especially if the surface is wet.
- Aluminum is more resistant to stains from coffee than v1 stainless steel.

I designed this because I was annoyed with the looks of the original acaia rubber mat, especially on the white pearl. The grooves also makes it difficult to clean. The metal design is to match the aesthetics of my recently acquired Fellow Stagg Kettle which is white with steel accents. It is crafted with a single sheet of 1mm thick aluminum and follows the exact dimensions of the original cover. It is strong, rigid and doesn't slip due to the non-slip strips and increased weight.

Small surface imperfections can form over time, especially with metal on metal contact. Less so with plastic or wood related materials.
